People Are Concerned About Trump After Spotting Small Detail In This Photo

President Donald Trump sparked fresh buzz in Washington, D.C., on Friday when cameras spotted what looked like makeup on his hand—reigniting speculation about the 79-year-old leader’s health.

During a visit to an exhibit at the People’s House museum, a noticeable patch of foundation—several shades lighter than his natural skin tone—was clearly visible on his right hand. Later, while hosting a World Cup event in the Oval Office, Trump kept his left hand covering his right as he spoke. Still, when he stood to greet attendees, the makeup was on full display.

The White House has yet to directly explain the cosmetic touch-up. Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt sidestepped questions about the makeup but issued a statement emphasizing Trump’s accessibility to the public.

“President Trump is a man of the people. He greets more Americans and shakes more hands than any president before him,” Leavitt said Saturday. “His commitment is unwavering, and he demonstrates that every single day.”

This isn’t the first time makeup has been spotted on the president’s hands. Back in February, after a White House meeting with French President Emmanuel Macron, Leavitt offered a similar response when images showed the same odd coloring. Similar sightings occurred in late July during Trump’s meeting in Scotland with European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, and again with U.K. Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer.

The speculation about Trump’s health intensified last month after photos of his legs at a FIFA Club World Cup viewing event went viral. Social media users raised concerns over visible swelling, prompting the White House to confirm the president has been diagnosed with chronic venous insufficiency—a condition that affects blood flow in the legs.

Leavitt said the condition was not causing Trump discomfort and offered no details about treatment. According to the Cleveland Clinic, chronic venous insufficiency happens when vein valves stop working properly, leading to blood pooling in the legs. It’s common among older adults, those who are overweight, or individuals who spend long periods sitting or standing.

Despite the speculation, the president’s April health exam offered a reassuring outlook. White House physician Capt. Sean Barbabella declared Trump in “excellent cognitive and physical health,” noting that any visible bruising on his hands could be linked to aspirin use for heart health.

Still, questions linger. A recent Economist/YouGov poll found that 45% of Americans believe Trump hasn’t been fully transparent about his health. Last week, Leavitt reiterated there is “nothing to hide,” saying Trump’s doctor is available to answer any questions—and confirming that no new treatment plans or lifestyle changes have been implemented.
